A downloadable game for Windows

PLEASE READ

This game was made for the A Game By Its Cover game jam. Inspired by the MY Famicase Exhibition entry ASMR: The Game by Jordan Rosenberg. Developed using Game Maker: Professional. Featuring slowed down music from Mengico and plundered audio from FrivolousFox ASMR, ASMR Darling, and SophieMichelle ASMR

HOW TO PLAY:

ASMR: The Game is an audio/visual experience ideally played in a quiet, and peaceful environment with headphones as it uses 🎧ADVANCED STEREO AUDIO🎧. If you experience any visual clipping in certain areas of the screen (which you shouldn't if you are playing V1.1) PLEASE RESTART THE GAME.

CONTROLS:

This game is one opening menu and thee levels long. To advance to the next level hold the SPACE button down. Each level has one constant audio track playing and thee optional tracks. To add these additional tracks press the Z, X, or C key. Please relax and enjoy.  :)

πŸ”§V1.1

I took some time over the past few days to fix a couple of the issues I had with the game. Most notably I added a screen that shows you the controls, changed the last level of the game a bit, and also fixed the flashing that would occasionally occur on some areas of the screen. I also added a subtle colour changing effect thing that will slightly shift between two background colours (it's kinda hard to notice) and fixed the centering on a few objects. Oh, I also made the game louder.

Hey it's Jordan Rosenberg — it's so so cool that you made this! I wish I could play, but I don't have Windows. Any chance you could show me a quick video of the game in action? Either way, super grateful that you took the time to make this!

Absolutely! As soon as I saw your Famicase entry I had to start working on it.  I'll post the video on the game page in a bit.

Just saw, this is so cool! Interesting idea to play different tracks with different keys. Better concept than I had imagined :)

I'll have to get access to Windows somehow...

Thanks again! Do you have a Twitter or something?

(1 edit)

This is my twitter: https://twitter.com/DeadlySnaker, I'll have to start using it more often. Anyway, I'm really glad that you like it. Originally I wanted to make the visuals more interactive as well but I was too worried about being over ambitious and never finishing it.

Also, Game Maker lets me make builds for Mac as well, so I'll give that a shot later and see if I can get it to work.

UPDATE: Seems the only way I can make Mac builds is with a Mac so no luck there.

All good man, thanks again!! Hope to work together in the future
